Yesterday, something
amazing and totally unexpected happened. In the morning we had a family
gathering at Bo’s place. Al brought over his three kids so that Bo could
take them over to the airport. I asked Bo if she had got the E-mail copies
of photos of old family photos I sent her. She had, so I explained that I was
sharing photos with the family to reduce the chance of loosing that slice of
family history.
My big regret is having
lost all the photos from my own life in England in the fires. I was sad that I
had none of the kids’ baby photos, especially the ones of Wayne before we
adopted him. Bo went to her cupboard and looked at her own collection of
photos to see what she had and then her face changed. She found my missing
photo album with her own!
There it was, good as
new, with pictures of my brother, my school friends and the houses Edd and I
restored all those years ago! There were photos from the sixties when I was
nursing in London, and photos from the agricultural research station where Edd
and I met in Berkshire. The really odd thing is that neither Bo nor I knew
she had the album or could remember her borrowing it. Who cares, I am thrilled
beyond measure to have it restored to me.
