BUILDING NEWS
Everyone turned up to work on this very frosty Monday morning. I am not sure if much progress was made but at least we all tried. Things are happening but so slowly that one day does not show much progress. Tonight I exhausted myself undoing some of the work because I we did not like how the floor in the hall had turned out!
Over the week end Edd (using only one hand), and I cleaned out the building. We swept up all the sawdust and moved all the off cuts left by the carpentry work and then sealed as much of the floor as we could. There were huge puddles in some places and although I mopped them up even a heater did not get them dry enough to treat with the seal stuff.
OTHER NEWS
Sylkie had her third birthday on Saturday, so we all had a family day at Bo’s house in Yarra Glen. In the morning she had the birthday party with a pink theme. Bo decorated her house with pink flowers draped over the doors and made pink food.
Bo’s mother in law cooked a special pink doll cake and every child went home with a gift in a pink bag.
It was also grand final day for the football so when the birthday guests had left we got down to the serious business of making our traditional Cornish pasties. Edd directs this procedure so that the finished pasties are very authentic. Some how it always seems to be Bo that does most of the work though.
Al India and Wayne joined us to watch the cup on TV. I fell asleep during the best bit of the game but I was very relaxed. In my opinion there is nothing better in life than to be surrounded by ones family, all happy and just enjoying the moment. I am so privileged having such a big peaceful family group. I support Collingwood, as it was the Yuendumu team, but everyone else supported the winners.
Edd went back to the hospital today and they rearranged the splint on his hand so that he now has two fingers he can use as well as his thumb. It took up most of the day but Edd is thrilled. His hand is still very swollen but the X-ray showed that the bones are still aligned. The X-rays also showed that he had a break last time his had was hurt a few week ago but it all seems to be healing. It is probably a good thing no one X-rayed my ankle!
